The picnic area is located
off of Military Road and Grant Road.
(Some
sections of Rock Creek Park (Beach Dr.) are closed to motor vehicles
on the weekend for bikes and pedestrians so you can't go through
the park from the north or south.)
From
Maryland:
You
can take Georgia Ave off the beltway and head south
Take
a right (west) onto Military Road.
At the
first light past the park (Oregon Ave./Glover Rd.) make a left
Bear
right at the fork and the picnic area and parking lot are on your
right.
From
Virginia:
You
can take the beltway around to Georgia Ave. and follow the directions
above, or
You
can take Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway and head north onto Beach
Dr.
At Broad
Branch Road go left (since Beach Dr. is closed here, this is the
only way you can go)
Make
a right onto Grant Rd. (your second right)
At the
stop sign, make a left onto Glover Rd.
The
picnic area and parking lot will be on your left.
